Who knows, then, where the songs all go

Let me disappear
In the flames
Of your fire
2/16/2024 – what nature brought
I came upon a broken path
Gone overgrown with moss
And tiptoed o’er the quiet growths
To see what nature brought
2/14/2024 – mine/yours
I walk beside you every day
After making a choice:
To do so in lieu of all else
For you are mine, and I am yours
2/13/2024 – so many wonders
As we wander in the forest
Of a world we created
Why do we find so many wonders
That we could never imagine
Alone?
2/10/2024 – cannot rest
I cannot rest until all that I wish for I have got
And so I shall not rest until I lie in dirt and rot

Give me not the roar of voices
But the whistling wind
The crashing wave
The creaking bough
The trembling earth

The whistling wind turns to a howl
And all I hear is song
2/6/2024 – the most important part
In the raging fire
Such evils transpire
To burn away the hope
Send me down the slope
Without my beating heart
The most important part
Of all that I am

Have I not wandered enough
Seen enough
Heard enough
To know that hidden wisdom which
The world seems unwilling
