When thoughts race, wild, in your mind
When a hundred things at once implode
When naught can calm your jumpy nerves
When pain bleeds down and tightens your chest
May I suggest
A cup of tea and a bit of rest
When thoughts race, wild, in your mind
When a hundred things at once implode
When naught can calm your jumpy nerves
When pain bleeds down and tightens your chest
May I suggest
A cup of tea and a bit of rest
When your heart can rest
In knowledge that it is safe, no matter what comes
In knowledge that it is cared for
In knowledge that another gently cups it in their hands
And in knowledge that that other will never forsake it
That is peace
To whom does the lone tree falling play?
For whom does the ocean thunder sing?
At whom does the far side of the moon smile?
For they do play
They do sing
They do smile
And though it may not be we
Who hears
Who sees
Who senses
There are others in this shared place
When that spirit comes and knocks
I sit in my corner
Ignore
Kick off my socks
Crack open a book
Silence the noise in my head
Find peace in my favorite nook
Lofty adventures often stumble o’er
The darker side of heroes’ violent acts
They use the blood and gore so’s not to bore
The list’ners, but this is a silent tax
As snow falls thick
And the wind howls, eerie
I hear
A song of nature
Singing loud
Proud
True
Fresh snow
Lying on the ground
Eddying around
Sitting soft
Waiting to be stepped in
Firelight shines bright
On the face of my beloved
Outlining her softest features
Giving breath to her breath
Light to her light
As she lies there
There, her expression still
Quiet as her mind grows quiet
Worries slip away
And firelight shines upon her
Worries now are gone, her
Hair falls easily, wildly
Her breath, soft
Like the fire’s
They breathe together
Both soft as ever
One crackles, both burn
With light
So bright
Grey skies
Quiet
They encompass all, touch nothing
Change everything
Spinning circles
In my mind
Often I find
I’m jumping over hurdles
And my mind hurtles
Spinning circles
