Quiet do the songs
Of those who’ve passed play for us
Loud are the living

9/10/2021 – so swiftly
So swiftly do the pages turn
‘Neath young, impatient hands
9/9/2021 – a haiku
There is music there
Hiding in your mind’s corners
Waiting to be heard
At least there is a box
There is a box
Just outside reach
In the deepest recesses of space
In the box lie secrets
Wisdom
The truth of the foundations of the universe
The box is latched
Locked
The key, lost
And the knowledge within
Unknowable
But at least there is a box
9/7/2021 – a haiku
The wind becomes quick
Rustling through trees and grasses
As fall approaches
Ode to the rulemakers
Your words, they twist and turn alike to winding, crooked creeks
Your actions speak of bending to an interest money piques
Your spine is like to beasts that, boneless, wend through briny sea
Thus with naught but a breath your ilk corrupts our liberty.
9/4/2021 – let me walk
Let me walk
That I might smell the green grasses
Let me walk
That I might feel the sunshine
Let me walk
That I might taste the air
Let me walk
That my feet be reunited with the earth
Different for me
A mountain would I climb
To look out o’er the world
And watch the flow of time
As fates became unfurled
Its peaks would I ascend
To see the greater tale
The means to ev’ry end
Pull back the cloudy veil
Alas that such a dream’s for naught
In these dimensions three
For though to be as such it ought
I wish diff’rent for me
9/2/2021 – sense
Give us truths in stone
Give us wisdom ages old
Give us knowledge passed down
Give us tools to know wrong from right
None will matter without sense
9/1/2021
I oft go wand’ring in this wond’ring mind
And seek out truths that do elude me so
And though seldom can I indeed truth find
Such hard-won wisdom is a prize to know
