The storm brought howling winds and rain
Endless and singing loud
Crashing against the windowpane
The trees outside unbowed
And after it had passed, the world
Grew soft and sat in wait
And in my corner there I curled
Till quiet did abate
The storm brought howling winds and rain
Endless and singing loud
Crashing against the windowpane
The trees outside unbowed
And after it had passed, the world
Grew soft and sat in wait
And in my corner there I curled
Till quiet did abate
A bit of chocolate,
Hot, for me
Rising with the breath of the earth
Flitting through the boughs
In every hue imaginable
Sweet feathers on wings so free
Here lies a dry man
Who watered others’ gardens
Saving none for him
Like swaying trees the drying grasses
Quiver in the breeze
As crisper air upon the wind
Fills me with autumn ease
Here I stand at the brink
Of something greater
Something brighter
Than me
Here I stand at the precipice
Wanting to jump
Needing to
Here I stand before all
All that lies ahead
Not ahead of that behind
Now all I must do
Is leap
To feel tools in hand
To shape the earth and upon’t
That is a true bliss
In my dreams there is
A world beyond the waking
One with new places
That rhyme with old
In my dreams there is
Calm
Peace, far as I can see
Where laughter reigns
In my dreams there is
Sweet, sweet silence
Like lightning bugs creative sparks
Flit through my waking mind
They spin and jump and leave their marks
For me to seek and find
I only wish they’d choose a time
When I could delve so deep
It’s troublesome they write and rhyme
As I’m trying to sleep!
The sky turns to green
As far-off thunder rumbles
And rain starts to fall
