If I could ride a boat along
The endless stream of time
And listen to the eerie song
It sings bereft of rhyme
I wonder what wonders I’d see
And who I would become
Were I from this spacetime-point free
To with the time-stream hum
If I could ride a boat along
The endless stream of time
And listen to the eerie song
It sings bereft of rhyme
I wonder what wonders I’d see
And who I would become
Were I from this spacetime-point free
To with the time-stream hum
I find myself lost
Pining after your presence
Until you come home
With fevered wanting I look in your eyes
As desp’rately I wish to hold you tight
Look now past all that makes up my disguise
My true, unfettered love is in your sight
Give me a crackling fire
The stars above
Animal sounds all round
Give me my loves
A quick-witted word
Laughter reaching high
Give me all this
And I
Will smile
Sorry it’s late. You get two poems today!
Walking by the shore
I smell salt spray on the air
And so my mind calms
By cobbled stone did I walk
In boots worn and torn
To see you there
Ever doubt plagues my thoughts
What if my eyes deceived me?
What if my ears were lying?
What if the words I’ve written
Mean little more than naught?
I find secret scars
Etched in corners of your soul
And love you yet more
I see in your eyes
A reflection of me
And so much more
Such wisdom
Such strength
Such life as to inspire
And I wonder
If when you look in mine
You see the same
Crackling, orange flames
A blanket and a lover
What else could I ask?
