At last the leaves bud
And the flow’ring plants poke through
As all comes to life
At last the leaves bud
And the flow’ring plants poke through
As all comes to life
I once oft wished for faster things
To walk upon the sky
I wish now for life without strings
My heart lifts that I do not reach so high
If oft I seek to shape another’s heart
How can I look within to alter mine?
Let’s listen a while
To the souls we walk beside
And grow all as one
If my mind so often wanders
And my heart is ever gone
If my soul wishes for distant shores
And my feet turn ‘way to there
Am I even here?
In quiet does the thawing earth
Speak truths from tongues of green to me
In loudness does it sing its mirth:
Life’s bright and free cacophony
In this new season
Let me breathe as the seedlings
Out with frost; in, sun
Let the quiet moments go
And bring on the loud
If only for a day
To know
To hear
To see
To feel
All that the music might bring you
If I sat a while
Beneath the starry darkness
What might I find there?
Let bluest moonlight show the way
The one I might in wisdom take
If not yesterday then today
So that a sage choice I can make
