Crusted eyes and stuffy noses
So goes the morning’s greeting
‘Fresh’ and ‘air’ will never meet
Once past this day in May
Crusted eyes and stuffy noses
So goes the morning’s greeting
‘Fresh’ and ‘air’ will never meet
Once past this day in May
These drab walls can’t hold
A lifetime of words
Of love
Of life
Nor can any
No walls
No windows
No ceilings
Could possibly contain
So we turn to nature
Perhaps there
Our wings could spread
Fullest
Grey and dreary days
Make one’s heart weary
What hour decides a person’s fate?
Which new fork in the road?
When’s going back not possible?
Why go forward at all?
I had not oft questioned my earthly path
Until I found the road came to an end—
Not just an end, a cliff before me then—
No way to turn but back to what I knew
And question then did I all that I knew
The birds, the skies, my God, the very ground
Each thing that once was sure I’ve questioned since
My path was found to end with nar’ a thought
Thinking of beaches
Warm sand and sun
Lost in a heavenly dream
Have I not
Proven myself?
Have I not
Done what is necessary?
Have I not
Gone above and beyond?
I believe I have
They say I have not
Green, green
The world smells of green
The blossoms are dewed
The buds shift along with the wind
The old flies away
The new takes its place
And the world smells of glorious green
Holding forth
For something
For something to happen
For something to happen that’s good
Holding forth
For something to happen to me that’s good
Holding forth
For something to happen to me that’s good for me and for my family
For something to happen to me and to my family, that’s good for me, good for my family, and good for the world
Holding forth
For something to happen that’s good
For something that’s good
For something good
Something
Holding forth
