Sitting by a fire
Listening to waves roll in
Holding your hand tight
Sitting by a fire
Listening to waves roll in
Holding your hand tight
A distant world comes to mind
Teeming with life and love
And as it gains form
The one around dissipates
Along with all its cruelty
For a time
Before we are off
Let’s have a moment, just us
Saluting the sky
Music rings in my ears
Unheard in many days and nights
Yet ever-present in my mind
An echoing symphony
All my own
My heart thrums
Wondering
Wandering in distant times and places
My ears prick
At sounds
Of harmonies in spacetime
And my mind twists
And turns
Trying to make sense of it all
No, it’s not the 19th. But I forgot to write a poem yesterday, which means today you get two! ~AC
Morning’s light comes
O’er treetops
Shining rays through the boughs
As Night gives way to triumphant Day
As the Sun and the Stars
Dance
And Earth in her wonder smiles upon
The heavens
As life awakens
And Fate circles the seas
And the cycle continues
Daybreak comes
Though hearts grow cool
Though walls grow thick
And though calluses grow all round
Let not life’s troubles harden you
Allow feeling
Allow truth
Allow light
A heavy heart is better
Than an empty one
Meaning is often sought in things outside
Looked for
Pined after
Wanted beyond wanting
Could it not be
Created?
What truths does the sky whisper
As I hide behind my walls?
Often do I dream
Of distant places
Never seen
Often do I dream
Of other voices
Never heard
Often do I dream
Of other lives
Lived
