To dream is more than idly thinking on
The things you most desire to have and do
To dream’s to set your sails and turn the wheel
Toward that which you cannot but achieve

3/22/2024 – dreams
Under the weight of the world
Sagging
Struggling
Stumbling
I can scarcely stand
Yet I am lifted up
I am pulled forward
By the unbending strength
Of dreams
3/20/2024 – unawares
The nighttime creatures skitter ‘neath the moon
While all else sleeps entirely unawares
3/19/2024 – hell
Hell is not fire
Not blazing heat
Not the inferno
Hell is emptiness
3/16/2024 – light from naught
The turgid waters of my heart awake
To all the flowing chaos of the world
Yet in their swirling madness there is truth
An order built of void, a light from naught
3/13/2024 – over the horizon
I stretch my senses to the farthest shore
Where songs are lifted high upon the wind
And all is bathed in sunlight without end
Yet over the horizon it remains
3/8/2024 – without light
Wandering across the yard
Under starless, moonless skies
I see what all appears to be
Without light:
Nothing
3/5/2024 – a different world
In the shadows
Cast by the moon
The air smells clear
Like still water
Or a brisk wind
Though little is seen
Much is heard
As a different world
Dances
2/27/2024 – withhold
My heart’s flames die in the embers
Of all I once dreamed of
Awaiting the bellows
That I withhold
2/24/2024 – as it knows me
Give me a song
Built of all the creeping moss
And all the whispering winds
And all the broken branches
And every silent creature ‘neath the sea
That I might know the earth
Half so well
As it knows me
