And all at once the pallid winter dies

The stillest breeze whispers to me of spring
E’en though the morrow will a cold rain bring
3/12/2024 – through time
Despite my exhortations
The earth refused to slow
And o’er my protestations
It pulls me by the toe
3/9/2024 – before spring
Sunlight most garish streams through naked trees
That twist and creak and sway in lightest breeze
3/6/2024 – as if new
To wander is to open up the mind
To all around and see it as if new

I long for simpler days when I could breathe
2/28/2024 – returns
The azure sky returns from there
Behind the thickest clouds
2/27/2024 – withhold
My heart’s flames die in the embers
Of all I once dreamed of
Awaiting the bellows
That I withhold
2/17/2024 – disappear
Let me disappear
In the flames
Of your fire
2/7/2024 – song
The whistling wind turns to a howl
And all I hear is song
