And wonder at what there I see
When wonders greater shine above

I wander often from the ground
‘pon which I find my feet
And in the shifting winds I find
Some new and wondrous song

As yellow go the leaves
And cool goes every breeze
And grey conquers the skies
I wish for summer rains
And dry heat from the south
And sun that takes the air
And makes it shimmer

When oft I walk beneath the boughs
Of those elder than I
I hope to hear the songs they sing
All while growing so high
