Upon the tallest mountain peak
Astride the greatest swell
Amidst the wood where trees can speak
And Earth can weave her spell
Find me there, find me there, find me
Where all is grand and true
Where life flits by most fervently
It’s there I’d go with you
Such true rewards daily I find
When to my hands I turn
Away, away from toil of mind
And into sunlight’s burn
Come dance with me, under the moon
Where shadows come to play
I’ll hum a soft and sultry tune
And we can move till day
Would that I might toil ‘neath the sun
From dawn till dinner time
I never felt I was the one
To find in plastic keyboards some new rhyme
I once oft wished for faster things
To walk upon the sky
I wish now for life without strings
My heart lifts that I do not reach so high
If oft I seek to shape another’s heart
How can I look within to alter mine?
In quiet does the thawing earth
Speak truths from tongues of green to me
In loudness does it sing its mirth:
Life’s bright and free cacophony
Let bluest moonlight show the way
The one I might in wisdom take
If not yesterday then today
So that a sage choice I can make
Lend me an ear one moment now
That I might share a tale
Sit here here beside me on this bough
Our begging, story-starved hearts let prevail
I’ve walked amongst a million trees
And heard a thousand tongues
And still my heart yearns for yet more
That I might walk and speak for centuries
