At last the leaves bud
And the flow’ring plants poke through
As all comes to life
At last the leaves bud
And the flow’ring plants poke through
As all comes to life
Let’s listen a while
To the souls we walk beside
And grow all as one
In this new season
Let me breathe as the seedlings
Out with frost; in, sun
If I sat a while
Beneath the starry darkness
What might I find there?
Let the gloom end now
And the sun break through the clouds
Let this shadow end
Shoots reach for the sun
As the melt feeds deep’ning roots
And all breathe first breaths
What is a friend for
If not to embrace you tight
When you need it most?
Stay close beside me
And let us sit quietly
Me tight in your arms
Cracks between the clouds
Shine hot against frozen cheeks
A promise of change
Another forgotten Thursday. Two poems today, then!
The music rises
Bright and ceaseless in my mind
Clear as cloudless dawn
