I heard a bird chirp
And it seemed to speak of things
I had never known
5/9/2022 – for simplicity
I find myself wishing
For simplicity
And wishing
For all the minutia
The little rules that don’t matter
The bounds we have chosen to place
For no reason other than
The comfort of rulers
To go away
And leave me
In peace
5/7/2022 – a haiku
At last the clouds burst
And life-giving beams break through
And all the earth breathes
5/6/2022
Hurrah for hidden truths that wait
Within unopened books
And so hurrah to those who ope
The tomes and set truths free
5/5/2022 – this is my wish
That I might walk the paths trodden
And untrodden
That I might hear the stories known
And unknown
That I might learn the truths spoken
And unspoken
That I might see the sights seen
And unseen
This is my wish
5/4/2022 – a (May the Fourth) haiku
Let me see once more
A galaxy full of life
All bound in the Force
May the Fourth be with you!
5/3/2022
Amazed am I that with but pen and pad
I can create a place that’s never been
And visit its wide wonders in my head
As if I knew it like a childhood friend
5/2/2022
Lately I sink
In waters
I need not
Have dived into
4/30/2022
Let me sit in the quiet
Without a question or demand
From the world outside
Without the leading and needling
Toward things I do not need
For I need no more
Than what I already have
4/29/2022 – a haiku
Green gives way to pink
While the waking earth drinks up
And the sun smiles down
