I stood before the cliff’s edge, staring down
And watching waves do violence on the stone
Up there I asked what song the cliff had sung
To so infuriate the salted sea
5/20/2022 – a haiku
The earth’s life returns
Carried upon new life’s wings
Young and old renewed
5/19/2022
I can rest my eyes
For a moment
Because you are here
5/18/2022 – And so I step into the light
I cannot hear the story in
These creaking wooden halls
Not sense the pain and joy within
The crumbling stonework walls
And so I step into the light
And listen once again
To hear the tale of moonlit night
True now as it was then
5/17/2022
I long for that distant shore
Take me there, take me there
5/16/2022 – a haiku
Breathe the salty air
As we walk beside the shore
Listening to the waves
5/14/2022 – There was a quiet
There was a quiet
Once
A place free of metal crashing
Of voices in their fell cacophony
A place of calm
I remember the grasses bending
And the trees swaying
And the bees humming
I remember the way the air smelled
Its sweetness
Its earthiness
I remember the warm sun on my skin
A pleasant heat on my eyes
That took away so much I did not need
There was a quiet
Once
I wish to find it
Guide me?
5/13/2022 – a haiku
Such music as heals
Are the wind and chirping birds
A divine chorus
5/12/2022 – burn away
The sun sears
And yet does not burn away
The shadows
5/11/2022
I walk barefoot upon the grass
Yet feel instead of grass’s blades
Vibrations from the earth below
A story ages old
