4/12/2023 – a disquieted world

On April 12, 2023April 11, 2023 By adamcallahan117In Free Verse, Short Poems1 Comment

A brighter day awaits me
When I can live with the clouds
And welcome the rains
And smile at the roaring winds
And embrace the sounds of a disquieted world

4/11/2023 – plastic keyboards

On April 11, 2023 By adamcallahan117In Free Verse, Short PoemsLeave a comment

Would that I might toil ‘neath the sun
From dawn till dinner time
I never felt I was the one
To find in plastic keyboards some new rhyme

4/10/2023 – a haiku

On April 10, 2023 By adamcallahan117In Haikus, Short PoemsLeave a comment

At last the leaves bud

And the flow’ring plants poke through

As all comes to life

4/8/2023 – so high

On April 8, 2023 By adamcallahan117In Free Verse, Short PoemsLeave a comment

I once oft wished for faster things

To walk upon the sky

I wish now for life without strings

My heart lifts that I do not reach so high

4/7/2023 – look within

If oft I seek to shape another’s heart

How can I look within to alter mine?

Let’s listen a while

To the souls we walk beside

And grow all as one

4/5/2023 – am I even here?

On April 5, 2023March 30, 2023 By adamcallahan117In Free Verse, Short PoemsLeave a comment

If my mind so often wanders
And my heart is ever gone
If my soul wishes for distant shores
And my feet turn ‘way to there

Am I even here?

4/4/2023 – life’s cacophony

On April 4, 2023March 30, 2023 By adamcallahan117In Free Verse, Short PoemsLeave a comment

In quiet does the thawing earth
Speak truths from tongues of green to me
In loudness does it sing its mirth:
Life’s bright and free cacophony

4/3/2023 – a haiku

On April 3, 2023March 30, 2023 By adamcallahan117In Haikus, Short PoemsLeave a comment

In this new season
Let me breathe as the seedlings
Out with frost; in, sun

4/1/2023 – what it might bring you

On April 1, 2023March 30, 2023 By adamcallahan117In Free Verse, Short PoemsLeave a comment

Let the quiet moments go
And bring on the loud
If only for a day
To know
To hear
To see
To feel
All that the music might bring you
