A quickly-falling rain
A whistling evening wind
And all earth’s music rises in the dark
7/13/2023 – a haiku
Let us walk a while
Tell each other our best tales
While waves lap the shore
7/12/2023 – whispering
Sands call me
From arid places
Where none walk
And all that lives
Lives in shadow
And all that lived
Lies in quiet
Beneath the hot sand
Whispering
7/11/2023 – music’s touch
The shadows close around my mind
When I deafen myself
When I deprive my deeper soul
Of music’s gentle touch
7/10/2023 – a haiku
Ride the tide with me
Let it take us where it will
Into the unknown
7/8/2023 – by their footprints
Silent shimmers
In the air
Unseeable
Unhearable
Untouchable
Yet they are there
Bending the universe
And we know them
By their footprints
7/7/2023 – a haiku
Sing me an old song
That recalls the dead to life
Long as music plays
7/6/2023 – undimmed
The summer sun upon the grass
Is bright and dances in the wind
With none of winter’s cold morass
Its joy still fresh, its truth undimmed
7/5/2023 – after the storm
The clouds burst
And the sun beckons
And the rain smells sweet in the air
7/4/2023 – a haiku
Do not point to sand
And imagine there a line
I do not see it
