Why not gaze around
And see what lies about you
And then simply breathe?

The pooch on hooch
There once was a pooch
That got hooked on hooch
Would drink on days that end with “y”
He had him a beer
And ‘gan to afear
An air balloon up in the sky
He barked and he woofed
And t’ward it he hoofed
Till his paws were tired, raw, and red
And that’s when he found
He’d just run around
His head, dreaming deep in his bed
5/29/2021 – a haiku
Before we are off
Let’s have a moment, just us
Saluting the sky
5/28/2021 – quarter-rhymes and pimples
Writing poetry is simple
Rather like popping a pimple
Grab hold of it and squeeze just right
And at the end of it you might
Make something worthy of a glance
Or perhaps something rather gross.
5/27/2021 – all my own
Music rings in my ears
Unheard in many days and nights
Yet ever-present in my mind
An echoing symphony
All my own
5/26/2021
And though it’s oft that winds of change
Come galloping through life
We in such times accept the strange
And see past fleeting strife
trying to make sense of it all
My heart thrums
Wondering
Wandering in distant times and places
My ears prick
At sounds
Of harmonies in spacetime
And my mind twists
And turns
Trying to make sense of it all
5/24/2021 – a haiku
From whence comes the rain?
Its smells are primally sweet
I would follow them
5/22/2021 – when chaoses abound
If such is life that often we
Are lost when we’d be found
Why, then, can’t I feel unbound, free
When chaoses abound?
5/21/2021 – to live (a haiku)
Though it may be quick
And with its share of dangers
It is best to live
