Tender, stretching notes
An orchestra playing joy
Giving me sweet peace

For whom do I create?
For you, for me?
For some imagined audience
Quiet as the still night?
I think I create
For that soul
Which cannot survive without
That creation
Is that you?
Someone else?
Or some hidden part of me?
And if it is the last
How can I know him better?
10/16/2021 – a haiku
Like sweetest honey
The air after a spring rain
Are your lips to me
10/15/2021 – a storm
Bright flashes all round
A swirling chaos
Of water
Of air
Leveling all in its wake
And in its center
A quiet, for a time
10/14/2021
So often does the wind
Change its course
And I am forced to wonder:
Do I force through?
Tack west against nature?
Or do I follow?
10/13/2021 – a haiku
Waiting is a curse
On the anticipating
One hard to shake off
10/12/2021 – a world all my own
So often I see the stars
And wonder at worlds above
What we could see
What we could find
If there, above it all
There is a world
For me
Then I remember
When I look in your eyes
That right before me
Is a world all my own
The pirate and the soldier
The soldier asked the pirate why
He plundered ‘long the coast
The pirate asked, “Why would you die
Defending those with most?”
10/9/2021 – a haiku
The trees are yet green
The colors of earth yet light
I wish they’d redden
10/8/2021 – happy place
A quiet corner without noise
In which to nestle tight
Free from the hecticness of day
And like to solemn night
