They say “make art for you”
Then tell you why your art
Is not good enough
8/16/2022 – to bring me peace
There is no stillness
Only movement
For the universe is not a boulder
And I not a stone
The cosmos breathe
As I breathe
And though in breath
I find stillness
It is but a movement
To bring me peace

My temper rises
At the evils of others
But nature beckons

For when I lose my way and tire
Of this world’s cruel designs
I lay my head upon your lap
And so at last can rest for just a while

By the apple tree
Where you ran and played
Now you lie
And make the flowers grow

I have not a care
For the things that glitter bright
Give me but grey stone
