A thought have I
Of horizons
Forgotten
Abandoned
Or turned to steel
Of forests
Trampled
Burned
Or turned to square, unbreathing shelter
Of rivers
Redirected
Dammed
Or poisoned beyond recognition
Would that I could remember them

7/21/2023 – tales on the summer wind
The summer wind blows cool and dry
Yet tales upon it chill the nerves
Of crashing waves from mountains high
And such great heat the air dances and curves

Chimes sing in the wind
Telling of a bigger song
Beyond my ears’ reach
7/19/2023 – once again
When I am in shadow
You are light
When I am in cold
You are warmth
When I am in the depths
You are the hand reaching
Pulling me to safety once again

You walked so light of foot along
The narrow way upon the wall
While whistling some forgotten song
That birds then answered with their call
And that was just one moment I
Fell deeper still for you
My spirits lifted up so high
I wondered if this all could still be true

That all might see
